Modelling and viewport updates

Foundry focused Modo 14.1 on modelling improvements. Polygon Bevel Auto Weld, Ghost and XRay views, USD import, mPath updates and denoising changes formed part of the release. The Advanced Viewport also received faster Shader Tree and Shader Group processing.

PBR and rigging workflow

The PBR Loader accelerated the import of texture sets authored in applications such as Substance Designer. IK/FK switching was revised to make transitions between inverse and forward kinematics easier when using Planar IK.

Historical availability

At release, individual licensing was listed at €1,698 for a perpetual licence, €379 per year for maintenance, or €569 per year and €57 per month for subscription access. A 30-day trial was also available. These prices are archival and should not be treated as current.

Artists should test USD interchange, shader translation, viewport performance and existing rig behaviour before upgrading a production scene.
