3ds Max 2021.3

With update 2021.3, Autodesk aimed to make modelling more efficient and streamline the wider 3ds Max workflow.

The release brought improvements to the viewport, remeshing algorithms, materials and shaders, GPU rendering through Arnold 6.1, and security features.

Max Retopology Tools v1.0

Alongside 3ds Max 2021.3, Autodesk also released the free Retopology Tools v1.0. The package was designed to support both traditional modelling and generative-design workflows by simplifying complex, high-resolution assets.

It can automatically convert polygonal meshes into clean, quad-based topology. Key features include the Retopology modifier, the ReForm and Quadriflow algorithms, Instant Meshes, and the Mesh Clean modifier.
