For those who don’t know the tool: TXTRCast is a Blender add-on for texture paint handoff from 2D paint apps into a 3D viewport. It comes from Nanka Tsukurouyo, whose BOOTH catalogue includes 3D character assets and clothing.
Screen capture drives the sync
TXTRCast is a free plugin for Blender that turns a visible paint canvas into a texture source. The add-on uses screen capture: users generate L-shaped markers in Blender, place them around a canvas in a paint program, choose the capture window and target material in the TXTRCast panel, then start synchronisation.
Drawing in the selected paint window then updates Blender’s 3D viewport in real time. The workflow targets apps visible on screen, with Clip Studio Paint and Photoshop named as preferred options. Other paint software may work if the capture setup can see the canvas. Magic, sadly, still requires pixels.
Requirements are narrow
TXTRCast 1.0.0 is offered as a 45.1 KB ZIP download on BOOTH. The standard download costs ¥0, and a support purchase labelled “donut money” costs ¥500 with the same contents. It requires Windows 10 or 11 and Blender 4.0 or later. macOS and Linux builds are not supported. A 2K or higher monitor is recommended, with dual displays preferred. The process works best when the paint app has a separate canvas window, because the four corner markers must stay visible for the screen capture method.
GPL code, as-is delivery
The package is distributed under GPL-3.0, with source code included in the download. Individual support, operation guarantees, environment adaptation and usage-question support are excluded. Bug reports are welcome, but fixes are not promised.
The add-on uses the Windows API and inter-process communication through shared memory. That may trigger security software false positives or affect Blender and OS behaviour. Keep backups, and test TXTRCast on disposable files before production use. Blender crashing over a texture helper is not a look.
