Print & Pin: Blender Walls With Baggage

G_ni’s Poster Print and Poster Pin age artwork, pack 4K atlases and dress Blender walls with bent paper, pins and a little narrative clutter.
A Blender workspace displays a warm, collage-style wall mockup crowded with pinned posters, cards, and notes in layered rows. Soft amber lighting washes over the textured board, with trailing plants, small framed pieces, and shelves above and below creating a cozy, curated studio scene.

For those who don’t know the tools: Poster Print and Poster Pin are G_ni’s Blender add-ons for preparing paper artwork and arranging it on walls. One handles the prints; the other handles the set dressing. Together, they give that suspiciously immaculate room a past.

First, distress the stationery

A pristine wall tells a story. Usually, “the environment artist has not got to this bit yet.” G_ni’s Print & Pin turns sheets of images into layered collections of posters, notes and photographs, ready for a bedroom, studio or Pepe Silvia investigation that has outgrown its spreadsheet.

A Blender workspace displays a printable wall-art design with a cream-and-beige distressed paper texture, handwritten-style text, and a gray paperclip illustration centered on the page. To the right, stacked panels show print and pin settings, preview thumbnails, and a partially visible checklist on a white background.

Poster Print separates artwork using a green chroma-key background or a grid. Paper treatments include folds, roughness, ageing, torn edges, holes and movable coffee stains. A brush refines custom tears; groups apply treatments to multiple cards, and Pack rearranges the sheet for a 4K atlas. There are pastel sticky notes, faded or monochrome photos and Polaroid-style borders. Even Graphic Design Is My Passion can acquire a convincingly unfortunate history with a mug.

Then, arrange the evidence

Poster Pin places the pieces with tape, pins and strings. Lift a bottom edge or bend a side away from the wall to create an actual gap and changing shadow. Smaller notes fill the spaces around larger posters; hanging photos have drop, angle, spacing and clothespin controls. Vertex Paint defines placement areas with an invertible mask. Vary the composition before the entire room becomes the same picture.

For clutter that belongs on the floor, our earlier look at ScatterFlow covers physics-driven prop placement in Blender. Here, the useful detail is the paper’s attachment: a lifted edge and a visible fastener give the eye something more convincing than another perfectly flat rectangle.

The small print

G_ni discloses that Claude assisted with the code, the poster images are AI-generated and Tripo generated the scene’s 3D props. The wall has plenty of paper; the paperwork still needs attention.
