Maxon released a VectorWorks Special Edition of Cinema 4D R8. Two included plug-ins linked the applications so changes to a CAD project could be synchronised with an existing 3D scene.
A building could be textured and lit in Cinema 4D, adjusted later in VectorWorks and updated without rebuilding its materials. Window sizes or ceiling heights could therefore change while the visualisation work remained intact.
Cinema 4D rendered photorealistic stills at arbitrary sizes and supplied animation tools for film and television output. The package also included a CD-ROM library of exterior and interior architectural materials.
The Cinema 4D R8 VectorWorks Special Edition was available through VectorWorks distribution. VectorWorks supported Windows and Mac OS 9.x or 10.1 and later at the time.
