NVIDIA began volume production of the Quadro FX 2000 and Quadro FX 1000 workstation graphics solutions. OEMs, system integrators and add-in-board partners were expected to ship products worldwide from February 2003.
The Quadro FX architecture offered 128-bit floating-point precision, an eight-stage pipeline and a fully programmable graphics engine. NVIDIA claimed up to five times the performance of its previous generation for content creation, visual processing and other professional applications.
High-precision processing and full-scene antialiasing supported resolutions up to 3840 × 2400 QUXGA. The products targeted interactive effects and high-quality GPU-accelerated visualisation in professional workstations.
Announced partners included ARM Systems, BOXX Technologies, Colfax International, Core Microsystems, ELSA, Leadtek, MaxVision, PNY, Quantum3D and other workstation suppliers.
