PNY Technologies announced Quadro FX 2000 and Quadro FX 1000 professional graphics cards based on NVIDIA’s workstation architecture. Shipments to integrators, distributors and resellers in the United States and Europe were planned for February 2003.
The architecture offered 128-bit IEEE floating-point precision and Cg programmability for real-time effects in OpenGL and DirectX applications. PNY positioned the cards for CAD, digital-content creation and real-time rendering, with certification across professional applications.
The Quadro FX 2000 supplied 128 MB of DDR2 SDRAM, two DVI-I outputs, two DVI-to-VGA adapters and a three-pin connector for stereo 3D. Its recommended price was €2,190 including VAT.
The Quadro FX 1000 used the same memory and connector configuration and was priced at €1,390 including VAT. PNY claimed performance improvements of more than 150 per cent over the previous generation. Registered Quadro products carried a 36-month warranty.
