3Dlabs introduced the Wildcat VP990 Pro as the top model in its workstation graphics range. The company claimed it was the first professional card with 512 MB of onboard 256-bit memory. It supported AGP 4× and AGP 8× interfaces.
Worldwide shipment was planned for April 2003 at approximately €1,000. The combination of Wildcat VP virtual-memory management and high memory bandwidth targeted CAD designers and DCC professionals working on demanding real-time animation and simulation.
