Nvidia’s new Maxtreme 9 D3D and Powerdraft 2007 performance drivers are intended to virtually double the performance of the Autodesk applications 3ds Max 9 and AutoCAD 2007, the company promises. Current benchmark tests would show that Maxtreme 9 drivers increase the performance of 3ds Max 9 by up to 100 percent, while Powerdraft 2007 would improve the performance of AutoCAD 2007 by up to 73 percent.

The Maxtreme 9 Direct3D driver increases the productivity of 3ds Max 9 users because users can adjust the quality and realtime rendering speed of the viewport display. Maxtreme 9 unfolds its optimal effect with all Quadro FX graphics solutions under Microsoft Windows 2000/XP. Powerdraft 2007 for AutoCAD 2007 offers 3D hardware acceleration for Quadro FX graphics solutions under Windows 2000/XP.

Nvidia developed the new drivers in cooperation with Autodesk; both are available as free downloads on the company website.
