Since 2004, SL:MIMA has been an innovation award for student and independent artistic works in the field of cross-media. In worldwide collaborations, musical artists make their works available in order to receive creative, original and unique videos in return. In this symbiosis, the goal of SL:MIMA is not only to establish a well-known industry award, but also to create a network of talented people, give them a platform and support them on their multimedia path.
“We are pleased that we can support SL:MIMA this year,” says Stefan Witwicki, Vice President for Strategic Marketing at TietoEnator. “Because in this environment we meet young, creative minds who have mastered the use of new media and quite naturally want to take new paths.” TietoEnator also sees itself as a driver of innovation: The Scandinavians are now among the largest IT service providers in Europe and have moved into the public spotlight in Germany. More than 1,300 employees are now engaged here in designing innovative IT concepts and implementing them. The company has made a name for itself above all in the telecommunications, banking, insurance, forestry and healthcare sectors, as well as for innovative solutions in customer management. TietoEnator is known for taking new paths and exploiting innovation potential. “It is therefore only natural to support those who are working on the multimedia world of Tomorrow,” adds Witwicki.
Participation in the award is free of charge. The submission deadline is the first September 2007. The competition is judged independently of technology in the Computer Animation and Digital Film categories. The high-caliber international jury will announce the winners in autumn 2007.
