Realviz Ships HDR Imaging Studio

The software bundle combines applications for creating and editing high-dynamic-range images.

Realviz has announced the availability of HDR Imaging Studio. The software bundle includes Stitcher 5.6, VTour 1.2 HDR and Photomatrix Pro. Working from digital photographs and panoramas, it is designed to create HDR environments for virtual-reality applications, industrial design, visual effects and video games.

Stitcher 5.6 allows users to build HDR panoramas and import them as environment maps directly into their preferred 3D application. According to Realviz, VTour 1.2 HDR can add depth information to HDR environment maps for spatial image-based lighting (SIBL), a capability the company described as a first.

Photomatrix Pro is a standalone product that corrects flat shadows and exaggerated highlights, producing HDR images that retain detail in both bright and shaded areas. It uses tone mapping and exposure blending and, according to Realviz, also supports batch file processing.

HDR Imaging Studio is available in English for Windows and costs US$2,580. Realviz is offering a 15 percent discount until 30 June. The company charges US$1,580 for upgrades from Virtual Tour Studio.
