The book made the best start to date of all English-language “Harry Potter” titles in Germany. The temporarily final adventure of wizard pupil Harry Potter and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley has been available in Germany since last Saturday. The German version “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” will be sold from October 27.

Author Joanne K. Rowling repeats the success of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” (2005) and “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” (2003). Part six of the Hogwarts saga debuted at position one on the fiction hit list in 2005 and remained at the very top for a total of six weeks. Two years earlier, “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” also entered directly in first place. The English version of the fifth part was in the Top 25 for almost six months, five weeks of them at number one.

On July 11, 2007, the fifth part “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” came to German cinemas. Almost four million people have seen the film since its launch. Over the second weekend, more than one millions Potter fans flocked to the bestselling-book adaptation. The work by director David Yates confidently defends the lead in the cinema charts.
