NVIDIA expanded its professional graphics range with the Quadro FX 370, Quadro NVS 290, Quadro FX 570 and Quadro FX 1700.
The cards shared an architecture with the high-end Quadro FX 5600 and targeted CAD, CAM, digital content creation, video, medical imaging and financial applications.
All four were designed for continuous operation, carried independent-software-vendor certifications and used the same driver family. Shader Model 4 compliance and an expanded framebuffer supplied Windows Vista support.
The architecture dynamically assigned processing capacity among geometry, shading and pixel workloads. CUDA support also allowed the GPUs to run non-graphics mathematical calculations.
HP, Dell, IBM, Lenovo and Sun planned workstation configurations using the cards, while PNY supplied standalone products in Europe.
Prices started at €165 for the Quadro FX 370. The mid-range Quadro FX 1700 was priced at €570.
