NVIDIA’s latest graphics processor in the GeForce 8 series is available immediately. Starting at a price of 229 euros, the GeForce 8800 GT offers ultimate gaming experiences in the latest DirectX 10 games such as “Crysis”, “Hellgate: London” and “Gears of War”. Of course, all current DirectX 9 titles are also fully supported.
The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT is powered by 112 stream processors, each of which reaches a super-fast 1.5 GHz. The 256-bit memory interface runs at 900 MHz. PCI Express 2.0 is supported as the bus standard; however, the GeForce 8800 GT is also backward-compatible with the conventional PCI Express standard. In addition, the new graphics processor makes it possible to play HD DVD and Blu-ray films on PCs in the best high-resolution HD quality. This is made possible by NVIDIA’s PureVideo HD Video Processing Engine, which takes over the complete decoding of H.264 videos and thus relieves the CPU. This significantly reduces power consumption, heat generation and noise levels.
