Only the films Into The Wild and Things We Lost In The Fire are now due to be released on March 4. Removed from the release list, however, are The Jack Ryan Collection set (announced for March 25) and the titles The Kite Runner (also March 25), Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber Of Fleet Street (April 1) and There Will Be Blood (April 15). According to reports that remain unconfirmed, Paramount will bring its first Blu-ray titles to the US market in the summer.
The Dreamworks subsidiary studio “Dreamworks Animation”, whose CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg had spoken of continuing contractual commitments to the HD DVD format, is also said to be off the hook now. Apparently, the studio used its new freedom to cancel its Bee Movie HD DVD, which had been announced for March 11.
