Another new product is the nForce 790i Ultra SLI media processor, which optimizes PC performance for current operating systems, image processing, mapping software, games, and HD films.
With a wave of products, NVIDIA is completing its GeForce 9 GPU and nForce 7 media-processor series. The company says the new solutions allow enthusiasts and gamers to build high-end graphics platforms and take visual computing to a new level.
NVIDIA describes the new GeForce 9800 GX2 as the world’s fastest graphics processor. It was developed specifically for graphics-intensive games, 3D applications, and playback of high-resolution HD films. With more than 256 processing cores on one board, the GeForce 9800 GX2 is claimed to be up to 60% faster than comparable solutions. Users can connect two GeForce 9800 GX2 graphics cards to access four graphics processors through Quad SLI.
The new GeForce 9800 GTX GPU has 128 processing cores and is positioned as offering the best price-to-performance ratio in the consumer graphics segment. NVIDIA’s two-way and three-way SLI technology permits the use of up to three GPUs, making the GeForce 9800 GTX a flexible and scalable graphics solution. The GeForce 9600 GT provides broad gaming capabilities without exceeding the budget.
NVIDIA’s new nForce 790i Ultra SLI media processor is designed as the foundation for all GeForce 9 GPUs. The highly overclockable motherboard platform was developed for current and future Intel CPUs with front-side bus speeds up to 1,600 MHz. It also supports DDR3 memory, PCIe Gen 2.0, and the ESA communications protocol for real-time management of PC components. The nForce 790i Ultra SLI is certified for NVIDIA two-way, three-way, and Quad SLI technology.
The new GeForce 9 GPUs are available worldwide from NVIDIA partners including Albatron, ASUS, BFG, ECS, EVGA, Gainward, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Innovision, Leadtek, MSI, Sparkle, Palit, PC Partner/Zotac, PNY, Point of View, XFX, and Zogis. The nForce 790i series is available from motherboard manufacturers including ASUS, DFI, EVGA, Foxconn, Gigabyte, MSI, PC Partner, and XFX.
