Additional improvements include the new iNEWS Community feature, which allows users not only to access content directly but also to view, edit and manage it, and to search for it across different locations. With this new feature, broadcasters can now report breaking news much faster and save time and money when putting content on air.

iNEWS v2.7 — What’s New?
Previously, broadcast professionals could access only the media available on their local iNEWS system. Timely or short-notice access to content from other team members was not available. With the iNEWS Community feature, news can now be exchanged directly between multiple systems using drag and drop; users can access and copy stories in other systems and create shortcuts to external locations. The many new features in iNEWS v2.7 enable journalists to be present when breaking news happens.
Other improvements in Avid iNEWS v2.7 include:
§ Microsoft Vista operating-system support for newsroom clients;
§ indexing that is ten times faster for quicker access to archived stories, rundowns and similar material;
§ greater flexibility in rundown management, increasing capacity from 500 to as many as 1,000 stories per rundown.
