Disney’s Documentary “Waking Sleeping Beauty” in Berlin

The Film Art & Animation department at the Games Academy is bringing the award-winning documentary about the rise of Walt Disney Studios to the capital on January 27.

The Games Academy and Johannes Wolters, in collaboration with Walt Disney Germany, are showing “Waking Sleeping Beauty”, the acclaimed film by Don Hahn, producer of “The Lion King”. The film tells the incredible story of the rise of Disney’s animation studio from unloved and unsuccessful filmmakers to the celebrated superstars of “The Lion King” or “Beauty and the Beast” in the period from 1984 to 1994. The film has already screened in the Official Selection of the Toronto Film Festival and won several awards, including at the Heartland Film Festival and the film festival in the Hamptons.

Waking Sleeping Beauty in the English original version, USA 2010, will be shown exclusively on January 27 at the Games Academy, Rungestraße 20, 10179 Berlin. Admission is free and only with registration. The number of participants is limited to a maximum of 90 visitors. Timely registration is strongly recommended.
