The BBC launched the marketing campaign for the 2012 Olympic Games, and this also included an animated sequence called Stadium UK. The insert was produced by Passion Pictures and directed by none other than Pete Candeland. Pete is known for his involvement in the Gorillaz videos and in the future will direct the Disney film The Stuff of Legend.
At the start of the Olympic Games on July 27, a longer version of the clip, lasting just under three minutes, will also be shown.
