The new plug-in can be used to generate pre-rendered or interactive VR videos for YouTube or Facebook. The current version 1.5 rendered spherical or cubic mono or stereo VR output, and also includes pole merging and support for camera orientation.

Learning Material

In addition to the plug-in download, Maxon’s Cineversity also offers many tutorials on CV-VR Cam. The training series shows how VR content can be created using C4D’s internal Advanced or Physical Render, or Octane for C4D.
For a quick introduction to Interactive VR, there is also the C4D/Unity/Oculus tutorial series and the Kitchen VR series, in which Mettle’s Skybox Studio software and Cineware in After Effects are used to render a 360-degree VR video of a kitchen, from the line drawing to the final GI render with CV-VR Cam.

 Availability & Price

The Maxon CV-VR Cam plug-in is available as a download to all Cineversity Premium members through the CV-Toolbox installer. Premium Cineversity membership is included with annual C4D licences, but it can also be purchased separately on the website for an annual fee of 295 US dollars.
