In December, the Blender Foundation had already announced that it was working on a real-time render engine called “Eevee.” The “Extra Easy Virtual Environment Engine” is intended to enable PBR and real-time display in the viewport. Anyone who wants to test Eevee now can download Blender’s 2.8 test build here. At the upcoming Siggraph 2017, the Blender 2.8 demo is also expected to focus on real-time rendering. You can read which exact features are planned for Eevee in the roadmap here.
