Only recently, Nvidia joined as another supporter of Blender development. As announced in a tweet, AMD has now also been entered as a patron of the open-source tool! The CPU and GPU developer pays €120,000/year, thereby also covering the salaries of two more full-time Blender developers. In addition to support for AMD’s own technologies and general development, according to the Blender Foundation announcement, the funding is intended above all to be used for support of the Vulkan API.

Further Development Fund support

The Blender Development Fund is currently growing rapidly: The new supporters now also include Embark Studios, which are adding a further €30,000/year at the “Corporate Gold Level.” With now 94,933 euros per month, funding for the planned 20 full-time developers has thus almost been reached. Anyone who wants to support the open-source project themselves can contribute to Blender development via the website with as little as €5/month.
