Archive notice: This article covers Maya and Maya LT 2020.2. Current releases, plug-in versions and platform support differ.
Autodesk updated Maya and Maya LT to version 2020.2 with UV-preservation controls, Outliner changes and revised bundled plug-ins.
Modelling and Outliner
Target Weld gained a Preserve UVs option so artists could choose whether topology edits retained or distorted UV coordinates. The Outliner added a vertical split, a context-menu route for creating sets and reserved namespaces for references that had not yet been loaded.
Viewport and plug-ins
Viewport 2.0 could use its OpenGL mode through Remote Desktop on supported Nvidia GPUs. MtoA 4.0.3 added Arnold USD export support, while the Substance plug-in moved to version 2.12 with revised commands and interface work. Bifrost also received an update in the release.

Studios should test scene compatibility, referenced namespaces, USD output and remote viewport behaviour before opening production assets in this archived release.
