Engineering data to CGI –what could possibly go wrong?
Almost every major industry that is manufacturing sophisticated physical products uses computer aided styling (CAS) or design (CAD) in at least some steps of its development. Living in the digital age, one could assume that using this engineering output to create media products shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge. Sadly, that is only true if you know your way around some common pitfalls and peculiarities of the engineering universe.
Autodesk at Hannover Messe
From April 21 to 25, Autodesk and its partners will present the new versions of their product range at the leading Digital Factory trade fair, held as part of Hannover Messe 2008. Digital Prototyping is the focus this year. The Autodesk Inventor 3D design solution and the Autodesk Productstream Professional PDM system, which form the basis for digital product development, will be shown. In addition, Autodesk will show products including Autodesk AliasStudio, Autodesk Showcase and AutodCAD Mechanical, which – depending on the company-specific product-development process – can cover design, visualisation and the creation of manufacturing documents.
Autodesk Data Management Days 2008
Autodesk wants to inform small and medium-sized mechanical-engineering companies in particular about the advantages of Product Data Management. To this end, the company is offering seminars entitled "Data Management Days".
