After Maya, 3ds Max, Lightwave and Cinema 4D, XSI has now also received its “Real Flow 4” plug-in. “Real Flow 4” users receive the software free of charge on the Next Limit website. The download also contains a PDF with explanations.
Real Flow’s main task is the simulation of liquids and water surfaces, but it also handles rigid and soft bodies as well as meshes. It is particle-based and uses physical properties to control the behaviour of particles. Particles can interact with one another and react to impulses, forces and accelerations.
Real Flow 4 also contains the Python scripting language, with which users can program their own extensions.
