Both channels belong to the Tele München Gruppe of media entrepreneur Dr Herbert Kloiber.
Christof Wegenast, 43, commercial director of Tele 5 since March 2006, will become Deputy Managing Director of the Munich feature-film channel.
Kai Blasberg, who took over sales and marketing as a member of Tele 5's management two years ago, previously held management positions at Deutsches Sportfernsehen, Kabel 1 and Pro Sieben. The Rhineland native is regarded as an expert in the positioning of television channels. Under his leadership, "Mittendrin statt nur dabei", "Die besten Filme aller Zeiten" and "We love to entertain you" each became brand-defining core phrases for the respective television companies well beyond his period of activity.
"With Kai Blasberg, an experienced manager is once again taking over the operational management of our feature-film channel. His major contribution to the successful repositioning of Tele 5 as a feature-film channel will provide him with a good foundation for further expanding Tele 5's success in the audience and advertising markets and leading the channel into profitability," said Dr Ludwig Bauer, who, as Managing Director of TMG, will continue to be responsible for the integrated media company's entire TV-channel division.
