PolyDesign introduced PolyCloth, a cloth-sculpting plug-in for 3ds Max. The physics-based tool created wrinkles, simulated fabric behaviour and provided several purpose-built brushes.

The Shrink Brush compressed and pinched surfaces, the Expand Brush enlarged fabric areas and introduced folds, and the Smooth Brush reduced existing creases.

The release brought a dedicated cloth-sculpting workflow to 3ds Max shortly after similar functionality was previewed for ZBrush 2021, as covered in DIGITAL PRODUCTION’s ZBrush 2021 preview.

PolyCloth supported 3ds Max 2016 and later and originally cost US$59. Current compatibility and pricing may differ. The archived listing is on CGTrader.
