With Tilt Brush and Blocks, Google has recently released free tools that you can use to create 3D objects. The tools are intended for low-poly work in the VR/AR field. Google has now expanded the arsenal with a public 3D library called Poly. This allows you to download objects and scenes from other people or upload and license your own creations.

Features and Details of Poly

In Poly, you can currently search ten categories—from living creatures and places & scenes to vehicles—for 3D models, view them, download them and use them. The supported formats are…

  • OBJ for the 3D objects and scenes
  • JPG/PNG for textures
  • ZIP for bundling the data

Most models are free, but because they are created and uploaded by users, they are sometimes subject to different CC licences. You can find more information about licences on Poly here.
