Send to Unreal
Epic Games released two add-ons for moving production data between Blender and Unreal Engine. Send to Unreal exports animated, rigged and textured meshes as FBX files, using Blender Collections to organise what is transferred into the engine.
UE to Rigify
UE to Rigify converts imported FBX rigs and animation into Blender’s modular Rigify system through a visual-node workflow. Once enabled, the toolkit is available from Blender’s side panel, where artists can map and control the converted rig.
Access and compatibility
At launch, both tools were available free through GitHub. Access required an Epic Games account connected to a GitHub account, and the add-ons supported Unreal Engine 4.23 or later. Teams should test the archived release against their exact Blender, Unreal Engine and FBX versions before putting it into a production pipeline.
