Avid workshops as part of the Munich Film Festival
Avid presents its new products from NAB 2006 at the Munich Film Festival 2006. On July 17 at 3.30 p.m., a panel discussion on the topic "Animation everywhere: Visual Effects in Film and Television" will take place here together with MedienCampus Bayern. Participants in the discussion are Michael Coldewey of Trixter, Michael Dalock-Schmidt of Avid Technology, Thomas Repp of BAF, Gabriele M. Walther of Caligari Film and Prof. Peter C. Slansky of the University of Television and Film Munich. Afterward, at 5:15 p.m., Avid invites visitors to the Avid Xpress Studio demonstration in the Blackbox, where users will also report on their experiences with Avid solutions in everyday production.
Avid is also active in cooperation with its dealers DVE and Videocation at the "Digital Cinematography" event, which takes place on Museum Island as part of the Munich Film Festival. On July 21, DVE presents the Avid Media Composer family and offers interested parties practical insights into the current version Avid Liquid 7.0 in workshops. At the same time, Videocation presents Avid Symphony Nitris and Avid DS Nitris and conducts Avid Xpress Studio workshops. Both workshops are aimed at post-production professionals. In addition, "Digital Cinematography" offers visitors numerous technical seminars and screenings of HD films from the regional film industry.
11. International Summer Academy for Film, Television and Music
As in previous years, there is an extensive range of workshops on aspects of professional film, TV and music production. The main topics are film camera 16/35mm, screenwriting, directing and film music. The Summer Academy will be held at the former Villa Zerboni drama school, the Institute for Youth Work and the Remise/Schloss Fussberg.

DIGITAL PRODUCTION Roadshow “Realization of 3D and Animated Film Productions as a Freelancer”
The well-known book author and demo artist Thomas Harbers presents current productions from the fields of architectural visualization, animated film and technical visualization. DP is cooperating with the private university SAE Institute as part of this roadshow. The workshop series takes place at 9 locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The venues are the respective SAE branches. The event lasts approximately 3 hours.

For over ten years, the DIGITAL AUDIO seminar series has seen itself as an independent forum for the exchange of ideas on future topics in the field of professional audio technology. The last event took place some time ago. Due to many requests and the exciting current developments, we have decided to dedicate this seminar to the topic of surround sound again. As always, we will be focussing on the future, but this time we have placed particular emphasis on complementary acoustic demonstrations. At the seminar, away from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair, you can find out in detail about the latest developments in multi-channel sound technology, which is playing an increasingly important role in music production, theatre, sound reinforcement and broadcasting.
