WWDC 2009: Apple Introduces Safari 4, the Fastest and Most Innovative Browser on the Market
Apple today introduced Safari 4, described as the world’s fastest and most innovative internet browser. Previewed in beta in February for Mac and Windows PCs, it uses the Nitro engine to execute JavaScript up to 4.5 times faster than Safari 3.

Apple Announces Fourth-Quarter Results
Apple announced results for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2008, which ended September 27, 2008. The company posted quarterly revenue of US$7.9 billion and net profit of US$1.14 billion, or US$1.26 per share. In the year-ago quarter, revenue was US$6.22 billion and net profit was US$904 million, or US$1.01 per share. Gross margin was 34.7 percent, compared with 33.6 percent a year earlier. International sales accounted for 41 percent of quarterly revenue.

Apple has introduced the new Mac Pro with eight processor cores and a new system architecture, up to twice as fast as its predecessor. The new Mac Pro combines two of Intel’s new 45-nanometre Quad-Core Xeon processors at up to 3.2 GHz, powerful new graphics and up to 4 TB of internal storage, making it ideal for creative professionals, 3D artists and scientists. The standard eight-core configuration is available from €2,499 including VAT.
