Photoshop workshop at Macromedia

The Macromedia Academy of Media is offering a free short workshop on two special Photoshop topics. The renowned photographer and author Karsten Rose (Digital Face & Body Styling, Addison-Wesley) will demonstrate the possibilities of digital face and body styling and introduce the automation and workflow of Photoshop. The workshop starts at 6 pm and lasts approx. 2 hours. Karsten Rose is an internationally renowned photographer and image composer. For years he has been researching and perfecting the use of Adobe Photoshop in the professional post-processing of people images. He is the author of numerous specialised books, such as "Digital Face & Body Styling (Addison-Wesley)" and a sought-after speaker at conferences (Photoshop Convention).

6th Hands on HD Workshop & Conference

The Hands on HD Workshop & Conference provides knowledge about the high-definition film and TV format. The programme is aimed at practitioners and decision-makers in the audiovisual media industry. nordmedia, the media company of the states of Lower Saxony and Bremen, and Band Pro Munich are offering this event, unique in Europe, for the sixth time. From capture to projection: in up to twenty equipment-specific classes, workshop participants from camera, sound and postproduction learn how to use HD technology. Alongside familiar models, new camera systems XD-CAM 4:2:2, Red One, SI-2K and Ikegami make their debut at the HD workshop. Due to high demand, there will be a 3D and crossover class for the first time in 2008. The full programme and registration are available on the redesigned website www.handsonhd.de. The venue is the Expo grounds in Hanover. The Hands on HD conference on 24 and 25.7.08 is aimed at media professionals in directing, production, distribution and purchasing. DP Intensive Seminar: On Air Design and Production Workflow in Cinema 4D

The first seminar day "Motion Graphics and On Air Design" provides a detailed overview of the conception and production steps through to finished on-air design and motion graphics projects using practical and real production examples. The workflow within the production plays an important role. Cinema 4D and After Effects are predominantly used. Good start for the first digital creation days with many photos

The first digital creation days, which took place from November 8 to 9, focused on computer-generated images for film, Internet, advertising, computer games, industry and architecture. 1,400 professional visitors from all over Germany met at the networking event at the Karlsruhe Convention Center to learn about and exchange views on trends in computer graphics and animation. In around 50 workshops and presentations, industry experts primarily examined developments in the German-speaking region. The most important prize for computer graphics and animation, the animago AWARD, was presented for the first time as part of a ceremonial evening event on the occasion of the digital creation days.

The aim of this training workshop in Berlin is to provide participants with the know-how to significantly improve the quality of their renderings with mental ray, to save a lot of time with the right settings and also to show that additional renderers in Autodesk 3ds Max are not even necessary. The clearly structured topic blocks cover the basics through to professional applications such as industrial and architectural visualisation or programming your own shaders. Participants will be able to create images of outstanding quality and unrivalled realism with mental ray. Quo Vadis 2007

The 5th German game developer conference Quo Vadis is taking place in Berlin for the first time this year and forms the centrepiece of the first "Gamestage Berlin-Brandenburg" (18-21 April). Aruba Studios has been organising the developer conference, which focuses on workshops, since 2003. The conference aims to provide a platform for all computer and console game developers. Game developers talk about new methods and technological innovations. The conference will be accompanied by presentations by renowned industry representatives from the German and European developer scene.
