Tokyo International Anime Fair (TAF)
The Tokyo Anime Award is presented as part of the trade fair for animated films (TAF). In contrast to the “Commercial Animated Films” category, the second, “Open Category” (divided into the “General” and “Students” subcategories), is open to worldwide entries that were not publised for commercial purposes. The Grand Prix - one of four awards in total - is endowed with prize money equivalent to around 7,300 euros.

The filmfestival, which was founded in 1946, is one of the most significant film events in Central and Eastern Europe. The festival is recognised by FIAPF as a "non-specialized festival with a feature film competition" (Category A). The festival programme includes the following sections: Official Film Competition, Documentary Film, Horizons (presents films of special attention at important international festivals last season), Another View (collection of experimental films), East of the West (films for East of the West section), Forum of Independents.

The most important contest for digital content creation in German-speaking countries has culminated last Friday in a great animago Award ceremony in Stuttgart, Germany. More than 1.000 artists from 50 countries had participated in this year’s contest, some of them submitting productions from countries like China, South Africa, and even Greeland.
