Now Available from Nvidia: Mental Ray for Maya

The rendering solution's plug-in has been integrated into the Autodesk tool Maya for many years. Mental Ray can now be obtained directly from developer Nvidia, and the Maya plug-in for rendering single-frame productions will additionally be released for free shortly.

Nvidia's CUDA Toolkit enters its fifth round. Linux and Mac OS developers receive a special Nsight version based on Eclipse. GPUDirect now also supports direct memory access from one computer to a second without additional CPU effort or caches (RDMA).

New Product: GeForce GTX 690

Nvidia unveiled a new PCIe 3.0 GeForce graphics card called the GTX 690, which unlike the previous GTX 680 model is equipped with two Kepler cores. The performance of the new flagship is approximately equivalent to two GTX 680 cards in an SLI configuration, but with lower power requirements and reduced noise.
