Legal music downloads grow by 37 percent

The boom in legal music downloads continues. In the third quarter of 2007 alone, 9.3 million digital products were downloaded from the Internet, media control reports. "The past quarter was the strongest single quarter in history," says Ulrike Altig, managing director of media control. The increase corresponds to 37.1 percent compared with the same period of the previous year.

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment and Nokia are releasing the blockbuster Ghost Rider with Nicolas Cage on an SD card for mobile phones – thanks to Actimagine. The French company developed the Mobiclip video compression codec for mobile platforms, which can play any type of video, free or premium content in DVD-like quality (24fps Full Screen) without limiting battery life.
