Christie Shows Its Work at the World’s Largest 3D Cinema Projection
Christie was there when a world record was set with the French 3D premiere of the Warner Bros. film “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” on July 12 at the Palais Ominisports de Paris-Bercy. Guinness World Records officially confirmed the major event, in which the projection was shown on a screen 29.9 meters wide and 12.33 meters high.
Presented at Siggraph: Motion Capture Using Body Cameras
Researchers from Disney and Carnegie Mellon University presented an alternative to conventional motion-capture systems at this year’s Siggraph. Small cameras (around 20) attached to the performer’s body make it possible to derive movements of the body and limbs in the environment.
